Planning your wedding
Getting married abroad means that you can leave the planning to someone else. We appreciate it is different to planning a wedding at home so we have some useful information to ensure that everything runs smoothly.

Planning your Wedding Abroad
When To Start. It is important to plan your wedding abroad in advance. Once you have thought about where you would like to go, our team of experts can set about making sure you have everything that you want for your dream day. We have also provided you with a helpful step by step guide at the back of this brochure to guide you through the early planning stages. How long should you stay? We recommend at least 14 nights duration. Some destinations require you to be in the country for a certain number of nights before the ceremony, giving you enough time to apply for the licence and finalise the finishing touches. We recommend that you hold your ceremony at the end of the first week giving you time to acclimatise, recover from jetlag, enjoy the sunshine and relax.

Arranging the Legalities
Organise Your Documents At least three months before you go, we will give you a check list of all the documents that you need for getting married, for example, passport, birth certificate, visa applications or any additional documents you may require. We have included in the brochure frequently asked questions and a simple checklist. Be Prepared Being prepared is always the key, so photocopy documents twice and check with our weddings team whether the hotel, registry office or church requires copies in advance. When you travel keep the originals and any photocopies in your hand luggage to make sure they are with you, as you wont be able to get married without them.

At your Destination
Finalising your Arrangements Once you arrive, our team of local experts will be there to make sure everything runs as planned. You will meet with your wedding co-ordinator to discuss all the fine details. They will have at hand everything you have booked before leaving and advise you on any finishing touches you may need. Confirming the order of the day will be on the agenda, possibly a rehearsal and explaining all the final paperwork that you will need to be completed. This is the time to decide if you haven’t already, on flowers, photographers and any transport (even a horse and carriage in some destinations). Your wedding co-ordinator can even help you plan your relaxation programme before the day.
